CHARLESTON, West Virginia (September 10, 2015) – Wild, Wonderful West Virginia was named 2015 State Tourism Office of the Year during the Southeast Tourism Society (STS) Shining Example Award Reception at Fall Forum which was hosted by the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau.  This is the 30th year of STS Shining Example Awards, which recognizes various aspects of the travel and tourism industry, including marketing, governmental support, leadership, new talent and sustainability.

“Our team at the Division of Tourism works hard every day to showcase all of the authentic sights and experiences that make the Mountain State truly wild and wonderful,” Gov. Tomblin said. “They are committed to capturing and promoting the true essence of West Virginia and have done a fantastic job of sharing our state’s unique story with the world. Congratulations on being named this year’s State Tourism Office of the Year.”

 

“It is truly an honor to be recognized as the State Tourism Office of the Year,” said Tourism Commissioner Amy Shuler Goodwin. “The GoToWV Team has worked hard throughout the past year to develop new initiatives, grow our social media presence and work collaboratively with industry partners.  We look forward to continuing our momentum in the coming year–showcasing Wild, Wonderful West Virginia to the world.”
