October 27, 2016 “When & Where to Visit” for Fall Color

MyWV Fall Color: https://wvtourism.com/fallcolor/

CHARLESTON, West Virginia (October 27, 2016) – Scattered color is reported at areas of lower elevation in West Virginia. The best of that scattered color can be found in river valleys. Huntington’s Ritter Park, Charleston’s Coonskin Park and Kanawha State Forest should have some good color. Trees in areas of higher elevation throughout West Virginia have mostly lost their leaves due to recent rain and snowfall.

Things to see and do

This weekend’s fall festivities in the Mountain State will surely get you into the Halloween spirit. Listen to spooky ghost tales at Harvest Fest & All Hallows Eve Encampment in Point Pleasant, witness the dazzling display of over 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins at The Pumpkin House during C-K Autumnfest, or warm up with some tasty chili samples at the inaugural WV Fire & Ice craft beer tasting and chili cook-off in Logan County.
