Mountain Music Trail Vignette Premieres Continue In Tucker County

Charleston, WV (October 15, 2015) – Mountain Music Trail premieres continued this evening at the Purple Fiddle in Tucker County. The event was a collaboration between Wild, Wonderful West Virginia and Mountain Stage– a production of West Virginia Public Broadcasting–and the Tucker County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Performances included local musicians Rebecca Wudarksi and Aurora Celtic.
“Around the state, people are asking for more local, more authentic experiences. We are fortunate here in West Virginia to have these kind of adventures right in our own backyards,” Commissioner of Tourism Amy Shuler Goodwin said. “The Mountain Music Trail highlights these unique destinations–venues like the Purple Fiddle and events like Brew Skies Festival. Tucker County has so much to offer locals and visitors alike, and that is why we are so excited to share the latest video in the series.”
“The Mountain Music Trail is revealing West Virginia as a destination for live music. Traveling 219, you will find endless places to stop and catch a live show, such as Mountain State Brewing Company. Not only are they one of the largest breweries in the state but they also pride themselves in being a music destination,” Jessica Scowcroft, Executive Director of the Tucker County CVB said. “The Mountain Music Trail is a great partnership, with five counties and Wild, Wonderful West Virginia working together to promote all of the wonderful music you can experience just by traveling 219.”
“The creative energy in Tucker County is overwhelming. We are here at the Purple Fiddle, which is known across the country to musicians and visitors as a place where you can have an authentic experience in an incredibly beautiful place,” Vasilia Scouras, Associate Producer of Mountain Stage said. “One of the hopes of this partnership is to invite folks to explore new places or to discover something new in an already familiar place along the Mountain Music Trail and Route 219.”
“This event is the perfect opportunity to show off the assets of the music traditions in West Virginia–a perfect mix of video and live music highlighting our region’s best music,” said John Bright, owner of the Purple Fiddle Café. “We are extremely fortunate to have Wild, Wonderful West Virginia produce such a wonderful set of videos highlighting our new heritage trail— the Mountain Music Trail–a celebration of the music of our eastern mountains.”
The Mountain Music Trail consists of venues throughout five counties in eastern West Virginia that came together to promote and present the traditional music, dance, and folkways of the Allegheny Mountain region. Several months ago, the West Virginia Public Broadcasting production team took to the road to capture the essence of the trail, which runs through Tucker, Randolph, Pocahontas, Greenbrier and Monroe counties.
This is the third scheduled premiere event of five, which will run through the month of October. All Mountain Music Trail premiere events are free and open to the public. Each will feature local food and a Mountain Music Trail Sampler featuring local musicians and bands.
