Welcome to the Mid-Ohio Valley! Take a walking tour of Julia-Ann Square Historic District in Parkersburg and marvel at the grandeur of the elegant Victorian homes. Visit the Oil & Gas Museum to learn about how the industry began in West Virginia, then hop on the ferryboat to Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, where you can tour the mansion and grounds of this circa-1800 restored home. Visit the North End Tavern and Brewery where you can sip a handcrafted local beverage. End your day at the notable Blennerhassett Hotel. This regal hotel has been in business since the oil and gas boom in 1889.

Wake up and spend the day exploring the North Bend Rail Trail on bicycle. Bring water for the trek and wear a backpack because you’ll want to do some shopping! Head towards Harrisville, home of Berdine’s Five & Dime. Founded in 1908, it’s America’s oldest dime store. They have everything from handmade soaps to bulk candy to old-timey toys, so be sure to pick up some souvenirs!

Head south to Spencer and take in a flick at the historic Robey Theatre—the nation’s oldest continuously operating movie theater. Pop on over to Chestnut Ridge Winery for a tour and tasting of some of their varieties of wine. Finally, wrap up your visit in Ripley at Helena’s Country Café, where you’ll find comfort foods made from scratch.
