Coopers Rock State Forest is a multipurpose area. The main attraction is the beautiful overlook of the Cheat River Gorge. Picnicking, fishing, camping, and more than fifty miles of hiking and biking trails wind throughout the forest for day use only. The Overlook Trading Post near the overlook is operated May though October.
The campground is seasonal by nature. The twenty five sites, with electric are suitable for tents or smaller RVs.
Hunting is permitted on state forests. A six-acre trout pond is located on the north side of the forest. Hunting and fishing licenses are required and all state regulations apply.
