Swim in the snow? Yup, waterslides and all!

Kids still going bonkers even after a long day on the winter slopes? Send them outside to the waterslide. Yes— in winter!

Snowshoe Mountain Resort’s Split Rock Pools is open year-round and free to resort guests. It really heats up in the winter (literally): fountains, large pools and waterslides for even the most rowdy, excited kids.

And for parents? 2 words: Hot. Tubs. (And a sauna, too!)

But here’s the really cool part: Split Rock Pools is literally split, with indoor and outdoor sections divided by a plastic curtain that you can swim under! One minute you can be swimming around indoors, and the next you can dive through and experience even West Virginia’s most wintery weather from the soothing warmth of the water.

You may go to Snowshoe Mountain for the skiing, but Split Rock Pools is without a doubt that final cherry on top of the wintery sundae, making your experience that much more memorable. It’s the best of both worlds, the hot and the cold.

As you’re packing for that trip with the kids, don’t forget to pack a swimsuit!
