Amazingly Offbeat WV Art Galleries

West Virginia is home to some of the most offbeat art galleries you’ll ever find.

Whether your passion is clay and a kiln, handcrafted jewelry, woodworking or an expression for the walls in your home or office – there is a flavor for every palate nestled in the mountains and valleys of our state.

1. Zenclay Pottery

Zenclay Pottery fosters creativity with classes and a studio in Morgantown, the heart of Mountaineer County. Beginners or even skilled potters can refine their skills, like basics of decorative pottery and working with clay for both handbuilding and pottery wheel. Create with your hands and shop for handmade items made in the gallery. Zenclay Pottery also has classes for kids and private parties.

2. The White Room

Thomas is home to an art gallery with a taste for the unusual: The White Room. Here, you can find the unexpected and the uncommon.

This gem is one of many quirky small businesses in this town, which is the heart and soul of Tucker County. The White Room sometimes opens for special hours during musicians’ breaks at the nearby Purple Fiddle.

3. Gallery Eleven

For 40 years, Gallery Eleven has curated a collection of original stained and blown glass, painting, pottery, jewelry and more in downtown Charleston.

Gallery Eleven promotes its cooperative of West Virginia artists with demonstrations, ArtWalk exhibits and an in-residence artist during gallery hours.
